Due to two broken arms followed by the pandemic lock-down of 10 weeks, today was the first day in 8 months that I actually played golf in 8 months. El Paraiso is a course I have been fortunate to have played over the past 30 years since my introduction to golf. I have seen this course displayed in many different conditions over many years. Today, It was a delight to see, like many other places, that without human contact over the past 10 weeks, it has blossomed by living and growing it's own way, by being nurtured by the people who know how. The fairways have grown thicker and have a poignant definition by a growth of the edge of the rough, which has not been evident here for quite some years. It is quite apparent that during this lock-down the golfers have been kept away and the course has been given a new lease of life while the green staff have been working away tirelessly each and every day to achieve the wonderful result. May is always one of the best months on the Costa del Sol displaying its beautiful fawn and flora and the El Paraiso Golf Course has stepped up to the plate to achieve showing the best. The Greens had barely a pitch mark on them and looked immaculate, although they were not as fast as they looked.
Although the look and and condition of any course is paramount to any discerning golfer, the most important points to mention during this state of alarm, is HEALTH and SAFETY. There are many golf courses on the coast that are not opening as yet and quite understandably so. Today's experience at El Paraiso Golf from the start of checking in until the finish of play, we were all made to feel we have been taken care of… in every way possible.
On arrival there were clear signs as to where to check in- which is outside the pro-shop. A plastic screen has been set up to check in and pay and to collect your score card if playing a competition. A Safety kit is supplied by the club which consists of: a Mask- rules of how to conduct yourself on the course during the pandemic, along with 2 hand wipes.
On the course , the bathrooms are closed and drinking fountains out of use. The clubhouse and all installations are closed and as little contact as possible is required. Credit cards are preferred to cash, taking your own refreshments is recommended. One buggy per person, unless you are of the same family that live together. The buggy steering wheels are covered in a disposable material and the cups on the greens have a mechanism where the ball is easily accessible when potted without removing the flag. Flag must mot be touched.
If you are looking to play golf and are not sure where or how during these strange times I can strongly recommend and highly commend El Paraiso for their approach to the pandemic and for taking non-members/ green fee players as well as members during this stressful time. I thank all the staff and Management for their commitment and sincerely I hope to return soon. ( to improve my score!)

Great golf course

Enjoyed the course, an easy walk, greens were true. Nice feel to the clubhouse.

Una preciosidad

This very well designed and maintained golf course is in the best condition of any courses in this area. Many new upgrades are making this course a must play. Several risk reward holes. Definately worth playing, great value for the quality. Two public electric car charging stations.

Fabulous place. Nice atmosphere. To be refurbished shortly which will make this golf club top range No 1. Staff and members are well mannered kind and gentle.
