An easy opener providing a solid drive flies the stream to make the fairway. The green is guarded by two bunkers, the one on the right being deep and best avoided.
A very long drive is required to get up in two on this challenging dogleg right par 4. The large green is protected by a deep bunker on the left, which is to be avoided. The second shot to the green requires 1 or 2 extra clubs. There is another kinder bunker mid green on the right as well.
A great par 4. Aim your drive towards the lonely cypress tree, favouring the right hand side of the fairway keeping well away from the hidden fairway bunker on the left. This leaves you a beautiful second shot to a big green which slopes away. Just be careful of the stream over the back.
A deceptive par 4. The fairway bunker on the right will catch a long drive and favouring the left side makes this hole easier. The green is generous but protected by 2 bunkers to the front.
This par 3 offers you the largest par 3 green on the course, guarded by 2 bunkers. If the pin is at the back take an extra club and it’s best to favour the left side to avoid running down the slope on the right.
El Paraiso’s signature hole, a par 5 dogleg left, offering everything a golfer could want; water, bunkers, birdie for the brave or bogey for the unwary! Tee shot preferably just to the right of the corner pine trees, a draw on the drive makes the hole shorter, but don’t catch the hidden bunker.
This par 3 offers a big green sloping severely from back left to front right. Although the left side would seem the safer side due to the stream on the right, if you miss left you will be faced with a very tricky fast chip.
Drive the ball to the left side of the fairway that slopes from left to right. Your second shot is likely to be with the ball below your feet, (bend your knees slightly more than normal at address). Again, the green is very large and protected by bunkers to the front.
A really challenging long par 4. Only long hitters can reach the fairway bunker and a good line is just left of the bunker. The stream then cuts across the fairway about 60 metres in front of the green, so a decision whether to go for the green in two or to lay up must be taken. The green slopes from back to front with water also waiting on the right.
A very straight hole, but the bunker on the right is reachable and the bunker on the left only for long hitters. The green is where you must be cautious. It is a double tear green where the best line in is from the left but be aware of the false front.
The best view on the course so I would recommend taking in the scenery with the backdrop of ‘La Concha’ mountain, then keep the drive to the left side, and again with the second shot. The two tier green is deep and well-guarded by 2 bunkers.
The fairway is wider than it appears, opening up on the left. A solid drive is required to be able to see the enormous undulated green which is semi surrounded by the lake. The bunker on the right will stop shots from running into the water. Best way in to the green is from the left.
Another great hole. Keep the drive to the right towards the far fairway bunker, which is further away than it appears. Second shot should favour the left hand side leaving an easier pitch if you can’t make it in two. The green is not as flat as it looks and slopes from left to right.
Beautiful, short par 3. Big slightly undulated green with a kind opening for any ball coming in from the left. Avoid the two bunkers and a birdie putt could be coming up.
Very long par 5. Only extremely long hitters can reach the fairway bunkers. Avoid the right hand side rough, especially on the second shot. The three tier green is huge with bunkers left and right. Club selection for your approach is all important and being uphill requires extra club.
Par 5, this time downhill making it play shorter and offer a birdie chance for the big hitters. Be careful with the ‘out of bounds’ that runs all along the left side on this hole. Another big green and slopes from right to left. Beware the little bunker at the back though.deep and best avoided.
Long par 3, and extremely well protected green on all sides by three bunkers. Though very hard to reach, there is a stream behind the green if you overdo it especially if you miss long on the right.
Fantastic finishing hole. Unless a very long hitter aim for the right side fairway bunker; long hitters can fly this bunker and gain extra distance. The second shot to the green sets up a great finish and requires precision as the two tier green, which slopes from right to left, is well guarded by three bunkers.
